Like they say in show business, Choir Camp must go on! Given the pandemic affecting our nation and the world, our Camp Staff was very sad at the thought of not being together physically for camp, but knew we HAD to do something for all who have come to love Choir Camp so much. Thus, the idea for our 41st (Virtual) Choir Camp was born and held from August 9-15, 2020. This year, we had 41 campers and 30 staff join us online as we recreated the Camp week as close as possible for the digital world. Using Zoom, campers and staff participated in live sessions of Chorus, Instruments, Lunch, Arts and Crafts, Drama, Quality Time (Family Feud was a big favorite!), and of course, Family Time at the end of each day. We also used FlipGrid to listen to Sr. Beth's message each morning and to connect and interact with each other. Many campers and staff recorded themselves singing our signature songs, which were then edited into a "virtual choir". Check out our virtual choir videos below!
Special thanks to the Camp Staff -- and in particular, to Hoshi Laureano, Vanessa Torres, and Ken Farnum -- for all the work they did this week to ensure that the spirit of Camp will continue to live on during these difficult times. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in-person for Choir Camp #42 in August 2021!
