Composers of the Future Program

A musical composition 10-week writing workshop in which students are selected from the After-School Music Program to work with professional composers and musicians. This program provides a unique experience for self-expression under the guidance of mentors of the highest quality.

Over the course of the program, professional musicians help the children understand the sounds, range, effects, and capabilities of many orchestral instruments. The students are instructed in the basics of composition and guided in the orchestration of their own music by noted composers and music educators. Final pieces are performed by professional musicians at a concert held in early spring.

Lesson Times: 4:00-5:30 p.m.  90 minutes per session. Schedule to be determined each year.

Fee: $15 per session
