The Songcatchers facility was alive with the sounds of music this summer as we re-opened the office and held both our summer Early Violin and Instrumental Programs from July 13-30, 2020. Both camps were held in accordance with NY State and CDC guidelines and followed all COVID-19 protocols on mask-wearing, social distancing, and daily health and wellness checks. Overall, we had 25 students who joined us this summer, with 25 teen volunteers serving as instrumental teachers and counselors. The Early Violin students participated in activities such as violin, arts and crafts, and music and movement, while the Instrumental Program students had two lessons each afternoon. Both camps held performance recitals on the last day that displayed our students' hard work and accomplishments. Throughout it all, our summer programs featured beautiful music, new friendships, many proud smiles, and lots of laughter from both students and staff. Bravo to all!
